Being an artist I am aware of visual design, color and style.

I’m a particular kind of guy. Things need to be impeccable, they need to be excellent through and through. I have been known to take fashion tips from a little guy named Sir Jiminy Cricket... and I didn’t take them lightly.

Now, don’t get me wrong. Fashion can be an outer shell, a barrier between you and the world. It can convey a persona, or it can tell truth. When you’re at your best though, what you wear is symbolic of how you feel. And when clothing design is at its best, it can transform your sense of self.

I remember when I first met Andres. His smile & style had an impact on me. Didn’t know he ran Five-Four (which was already my favorite clothing company).

Andre is now a good friend, and a collector of the ICON series. He runs the baddest clothing company out there... Five-Four clothing is “impeccable”, as my mentor Sir Jiminy would say.

Just wanted to say thanks to Andres & Five-Four for keeping artists looking and feeling good.

Do you know what Five-Four equals? Check out my LOOK OF THE WEEK with Five-Four.

Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell

While incarcerated Corbell conceived the comeback of what would then become known as the Los Angeles version of WOMEN IN SUNGLASSES. His art opening turned into the photo shoot itself once back in Los Angeles on the date of the show. Models poured into the party, tearing off designer blouses and rolling on Smashbox lipsticks as Corbell snapped away with a vintage Polaroid camera – the only rule? They all wore sunglasses!

The image above is one of the few remaining original shots from Corbell’s time in Nice, France. This is the one that started it all.

SEE THE LOS ANGELES VERSION OF WOMEN IN SUNGLASSES
